Hello Broncos!

My name is Ms. Roudebush and I am the music teacher at Northern Hills Elementary.   I have been teaching music for 21 years, with a Bachelor's in Music Therapy from the University of the Incarnate Word.  Besides being a certified music teacher in NEISD, I am also a registered music therapist with experience helping folks with special needs.  I also teach private piano, voice and guitar lessons.  In my spare time, I enjoy training for half-marathons, taking care of my fur babies (two grumpy cats and a hyper chihuahua), and attending concerts.  This coming year we will resume PTA programs at Northern Hills for each grade level, and an all school Veterans Day performance honoring those who served.  NH Honor Choir will also resume rehearsals after school.  I am excited to return to our usual musical routines post Covid quarantine restrictions!  Expect your child to learn how to read, compose and perform music on classroom instruments.  Sing popular and folk songs.  Learn how to read and sing with basic solfege pitches (Do, re, mi, fa so...)  Play in classroom ensembles, and develop an appreciation for classical and popular composers.  See you soon in the music portable!
