Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education EC-6

Ms. Smith

Hey ya'll!

I'm Ms. Smith, and this is my second year at Castle Hills Elementary. My journey to becoming an educator has had a few twists and turns, but once I discovered my passion for teaching, it was all worth it!

I was born and raised in East Texas, where I got my first job at age 15 teaching gymnastics. After high school, I went off to San Jacinto College as a Musical Theatre major. I then decided to follow in my father's footsteps and became a Personal Trainer. I knew I enjoyed theatre and personal training, but they just didn't feel like my calling. I took a leap and got a job as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and completely fell in love! I knew in that first year that I had finally found my calling!

While working at Primrose School of College Station, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University, and completed my student teaching at Navarro Elementary in a 1st grade classroom.

I have been so overwhelmed by everyone's kindness at Castle Hills Elementary, and I can not wait for an amazing second year with my 1st Grade class!
