How many books may students check out?

This varies depending on student age, past checkout history, and upcoming school holidays.

PreK-2 visit the library every week with their class and then once they can do self checkout they can come more often.

3-5 visit the library with their class every OTHER week. In between those dates they can ask to visit at other times like recess or if they finish work early. No one should ever have to wait more than a day or two to get new books! Self checkout procedures are important to understand. Listen for the "happy beeps!"

PreK may check out 1-2 print books for one week.

K may check out 2 books for one week.

1st may check out 2 books for one week.

2nd may check out 2 books for one week.

3rd may check out 3 print books for two weeks.

4th may check out 3 books for two weeks.

4th may check out 3 books for two weeks.

The week before a long school holiday (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Break) we often add an extra print book to everyone's checkout.

ALL of the time current students have the option to check out 5 more titles electronically via the NEISD Sora collection.
