Learn the basics of ASL for free!

MacArthur ASL students teach the 2022 course

Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of American Sign Language (ASL)? MacArthur High School ASL students are ready to share their knowledge and expertise with you for free!

MacArthur ASL Honor Society students will lead free courses for seven weeks. Join us on Sundays between Oct.13 and Nov. 24. Classes will run from 3 to 4 p.m. in the children’s area at the Brook Hollow Library at 530 Heimer Road.

On Sunday, Oct. 6, the group will be offering a special course about teaching your baby sign language. This class will also take place at Brook Hollow Library from 3 to 4 p.m.

These ASL classes are free to the public and all ages are welcome. All you have to do is show up! No prior knowledge of ASL is necessary.

MacArthur ASL students began providing these free classes in 2014. It continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to another great showing this fall.

If you have questions, feel free to reach out to ASL teacher Tim Kitterman. You can also learn more by visiting the Brook Hollow Library events calendar.
