Nimitz & STEM students are fighting hunger and feeding hope

Students outside the food bank

Nimitz/STEM National Junior Honor Society members sorted more than 34,000 pounds of food at the San Antonio food Bank this week.

That equals nearly 12,000 meals for families.

“I thought it was pretty awesome, getting to see the way they they get to supply food for people who need it,” said seventh-grader Evan Newman. “Just getting to see the ways people can help others get food was pretty cool. Helping out was really satisfying.”

These students are showing how to help others #theNEISDway.
