Ms. Ann Spence

Hello Cowboys!

My name is Ann Spence and I have been a teacher since 1984. I began my career in Dayton, Ohio, teaching first graders shortly after graduating from Marshall University, where  I had earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude, and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. My major is in elementary education with specializations in mentally and physically handicapped education. I attended Wright State University for graduate level classes.

As my family grew, we moved around the country, having the opportunity to live in several different states. I stayed home with my daughter and son until we landed in San Antonio. As my own children entered school, I soon I realized I missed being with students and helping them grow. It was great to volunteer and help the PTA, but I couldn’t wait to get back into the classroom. I am proud to say I have been with NEISD since 2005. Helping students with special needs has been my passion, and unlocking the keys to their learning while working with their parents and our dedicated staff has been my honor.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy moving plants around in my garden, traveling, reading, walking, and my beautiful family.
