I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! Please read my biography so you can get to know me just like I'm going to get to know your child. 

I grew up in Austin, Texas and knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age. I would "teach" my brother, sister and my stuffed animals with my trusty blackboard and chalk. This love of teaching led me to attend Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. While there, I was inducted into the Golden Key Honors Society and accepted into Kappa Delta Pi. Both were for teachers who had exemplary academic standards.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002. I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Education PK-6 and a Specialization in Early Childhood Education. I am also certified in English as a Second Language Supplemental.

I moved to San Antonio and began teaching the same year. I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th and Kindergarten. I taught 3rd grade for 9 years, kindergarten for 11 years (this year being my 12th!), 1st grade for 2 years and one year in 4th grade. I'm beginning my 23rd year of teaching children! Time has flown by and I still love teaching.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Rick, for 20 years. We have two handsome boys, Noah and Austen. I also have 2 rambunctious dogs, Remington and Buddy. 

My goal is to create a safe, fun, playful and loving environment for everyone. I have high expectations, a hefty amount of patience and understanding for each of my students. It is important to know that it takes myself, you and your child in order to be successful. We will have a wonderful year!
