North East ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) Volunteer Application
Each school district in the state is required to establish and maintain a district-level school health advisory council. State law requires the majority of SHAC members to be parents (of students enrolled in NEISD schools) who are not employees of NEISD. The School Health Advisory Council acts in an advisory capacity to Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Sara E Ramirez
It is with excitement that I write this letter to introduce myself as the newly appointed principal at Cibolo Green Elementary beginning in the new year.
This school year marks my 20th year in education. I started my career in Austin ISD as a Bilingual Specialist in 1993. I went to work in the private sector with Johnson & Johnson for several years. My North East ISD career began at Walzem Elementary in 2004. I have served as an assistant principal over the last 7 years at Larkspur Elementary, Encino Park Elementary and most recently at East Terrell Hills.
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at Texas State University. I completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas where most of my family still lives. On the weekends, you can find me on a tennis court, cooking or crafting. My husband of 22 years, Andrew, and I have two daughters. We enjoy cooking outdoors on the Big Green Egg and gathering with family and friends.
As educators and parents, we have just gone through the biggest transformation in education as it relates to COVID-19. We are all changed as educators and leaders. I’ve never been more proud to be in public education and part of NEISD than during these unusual times. I know we have offered our best to our students and their families. We will continue to do so. I commit to balancing the expectations of excellence and achievement with the need for safety at Cibolo Green.
I believe in growing the whole child, academically and emotionally especially in the formative elementary years. I believe that the most important person in any classroom is the teacher. I know parents are a child’s first teacher. Together we will continue to support our students and keep our community strong. We are all in this together.
I look forward to working beside our staff, parents, PTA and the surrounding community to continue the high expectations and excellence in the Cibolo Green Elementary.
It’s a GREAT day to be a CHAMPION!
