Ms. Ygnacia (Nancy) Capetillo

Welcome!! My name is Nancy Capetillo and I am very excited to be teaching dyslexia this year at Camelot! This will be my 14th year of teaching and my 6th year at Camelot Elementary. I graduated from St. Mary’s University with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Reading here in San Antonio. I also have my M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction-Math from Concordia University! As of summer 2023, I am officially CALT and LDT certified!  Please check out my Dyslexia Parent Information packet.

I’m originally from Amarillo, TX in the Texas Panhandle and I moved here for St. Mary’s University. Go Rattlers!!! My favorite things to do are read, listen to music, and travel/visit my family and friends at the beach and the mountains.

I approach each school year with the knowledge that our children are our future doctors, inventors, scientists, teachers, and possibly, our nation’s leaders. I see the potential in every student. I also see all the possibilities the future holds for them. Each year, I watch them express their likes and dislikes, their struggles and fears, and their hopes and dreams. I try my best to cater to their interests, help them seek the positive in their dislikes, help them overcome their struggles, encourage them to face their fears with courage, and nurture their hopes and dreams. I believe children learn best from hands-on experiences. I believe that by partnering with parents and the community, we can achieve the best education possible for all children.

I feel honored and privileged to be a part of the Camelot community, and am very excited about helping to develop the traditions that will become Camelot Elementary School.
