Serna’s Extended Year Calendar includes four Intersession Weeks. The Intersession weeks are designed to provide a small percentage of our students additional support in academics to target their learning needs. For other students, the Intersession weeks are non-school days. Students attending Intersession from 7:30-12:30 pm will have an hour of enrichment with our high school ambassadors and four hours of classroom instruction, breakfast, and lunch.  Extended day care is also available at no cost until 5:30 pm.

Serna’s Intersession weeks are designed to provide students with more timely and immediate support during the school year rather than in a traditional summer school at the end of the school year.  As a result, our school calendar ends three weeks after the traditional school calendar. The last Intersession week is immediately after the last day of school to ensure students are able to advance to the next grade level for the following school year.
