NEISD celebrates National Assistant Principal Week

Rodriguez with an NEISD way sign

April 1-5 is National Assistant Principal Week, a great reminder of the contributions Assistant Principals make to our campuses.

Kristen Rodriguez at Northern Hills Elementary School is one of North East ISD’s inspiring Assistant Principals. This is her first year as an AP, but it’s something she’s felt pulled towards her entire career as an educator.

“This job is a calling. It is a calling for servant leadership. I will go to the ends of the Earth for my students and staff members. There is nothing I won’t do to see them succeed.”

Rodriguez has worked in other school districts, but she says working at NEISD feels like coming home. She graduated from our International School of the Americas (ISA) magnet school at Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School. Her children all attend NEISD schools. This is the District where she sees her children thrive, where she helps her students thrive, and where her career thrives.

“I worked really hard to earn my degrees, and I want to take them as far as I can. I also want to show these students how far they can go. The learning never stops.”

Thank you to all of the NEISD Assistant Principals who work so hard to provide support, resources and guidance to our students, teachers, parents and community.

Want to let your AP know how much they mean to you? Send them a Staff Shout Out!
