“He’s doing things I would have never thought my four-year-old would be doing.”
Perla Pena's youngest son is currently enrolled at the Pre-K Academy at West Avenue. That decision has changed their lives. Her husband speaks Spanish. By enrolling their son in Dual Language as a four-year-old, the language barrier is shrinking.
“We enrolled him in Pre-K Dual Language, and he picked up a lot really quickly,” said Perla. “Expectations are high, so they learn and participate more. Now he can talk to his dad and hold a conversation. It helped us as a family.”
This is the second child that Perla has enrolled at our Pre-K Academy. Like most parents, Perla was nervous when she first dropped her kids off. Those worries quickly vanished when she realized that the people on campus care about her children as much as she does. And the results she’s seeing speaks for itself. That’s why she enrolled another child there without hesitating.
“Every teacher I’ve ever met remembers me. They’re alert and quick to let you know what’s going on. I think the kids here can learn to be confident because there aren’t bigger kids around. They’ve already learned the basics before they go to kindergarten. I’ve had a good experience here.”
