Dellview’s Guitar Club hits all the right notes
Dellview Elementary School students in the Guitar Club are hitting all the right notes!
Fifth graders in the Guitar Club strummed alongside their mentors at Dellview Music Center this week, wrapping up a fun year with a fun performance as their parents watched with pride.
Fifth grader Avery Pacheco jumped at the chance to join Guitar Club this year.
“I just really found all the chords fascinating, so when the opportunity came up, I was really interested,” said Avery. “We learned a bunch of chords and a few melodies. Learning the songs and how to use your different fingers.”
Each student learned the basics of guitar playing thanks to a grant from our North East Educational Foundation (NEEF), which provided the funding to purchase guitars for the club.
Tim Ludtman is wrapping up his first year as the music teacher at Dellview. He inherited not only guitars for his students, but an incredible support system at Dellview and North East ISD.
“I feel really lucky,” said Ludtman. “I’ve never taught in a school that had this many resources and instruments.”
NEEF’s mission is to develop and expand educational opportunities for the students across NEISD. Their investment in our students and teachers – just like Dellview’s Guitar Club - continue to pay off #theNEISDway.
A special thank you to Dellview Music Center for volunteering their time with our students!
