iCSI offers students a head start in promising careers

North East ISD Institute of CyberSecurity and Innovation (iCSI) offers students a chance to get a head start in in-demand technology and cybersecurity careers. Over the summer, several iCSI students got the opportunity to work at Linebarger Googan Blair & Sampson, LLP law offices.

“It was interesting to see how technology works with everything else,” said iCSI junior Tina Tse. “We specialized in technology, but we got to see how our actions affect other things, even the most minuscule stuff.”

Tse found her passion for cybersecurity after getting involved in Cyberpatriots at Krueger Middle School. Now at iCSI, she is learning even more about coding and how networks work. She’s already earned two industry-based certifications that helped her land her internship with the law firm.

“They did an amazing job and were a great representation of the iCSI program,” said LeWayne Ballard, Chief Technology Officer for Linebarger Googan Blair & Sampson. “They are welcome back. Hopefully, they gained as much from the internship as we enjoyed having them.”

Beginning in October, applications for all NEISD magnet school programs for the 2024-2025 school year will be accepted, including iCSI.
