    Every NEISD campus has a Registered Nurse (RN) ready to aide your student. Additionally, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Clinic Assistants (CAs), supervised by the RN, are at designated campuses.

  • Medications on Campus

    ALL medications shall be delivered to and kept in the school clinic. Medications may not be kept in the classroom or administered by a teacher in the classroom. Students may not carry ANY type of medication (prescription, non-prescription, homeopathic products, vitamins, or over-the-counter health products) on their person, in their lunch box, purse, or book bag/backpack, on the school bus, or place these types of items in their locker.

    • Hearing and vision screenings for all Kinder, 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders
    • Acanthosis Nigricians screening for 1st, 3rd and 5th graders
    • Dental screening for 3rd grade
    • Scoliosis screenings for 5th grade girls

    School nurses are a primary resource in recognizing and managing children´s health problems. School nurses have the professional education and expertise to function successfully in the separate complete systems of education and health care. NEISD school nurses are committed to each child´s individual development and safety.
