Student and staff safety is always our priority. We must all work together to keep our school safe.
Below are some helpful procedures and tips to help our school run efficiently and safely. We appreciate your cooperation with these procedures.
Morning Procedures
No staff members are on duty before 7:00 a.m.
No child should be dropped off before 7:00 a.m.
There are two drop-off lanes in the morning before school. One is in front of the school and the other is on the side of the school by the cafeteria. We suggest you use the drop-off lane with the least amount of traffic.
Pull all the way down to the first spot. Do NOT stop by the front door. Traffic backs up quickly and it is frustrating for other parents when cars do not pull to the first spot.
DO NOT DROP STUDENTS OFF IN THE PARKING LOTS!
Students are tardy if not in the building by 7:40a.m. A parent must accompany students to the front office and sign them in if they arrive after 7:40a.m.
WHERE DO STUDENTS GO IN THE MORNING BEFORE SCHOOL?
Kinder and 1st: Hallway outside of classroom
2nd-3rd: Gym 2
4th: Gym 1
5th: Gym 1 or Cafeteria (teachers will let students know)
Students eating breakfast go directly to the cafeteria and then to their designated area.
AFTERSCHOOL DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Any parent, guardian, babysitter, etc., picking up a child in the front drive-through lane or walking up to meet their child on the back porch MUST bring their colored student dismissal card. Cards were issued in your child’s classroom at Meet the Teacher on August 23rd. If you were unable to attend on the 23rd, you may stop by the front office to pick up a colored card. Bus riders, day care/KIN students, and walkers do not need a colored card at dismissal.
Colored cards must be displayed/brought each afternoon throughout the school year if you plan to pick up your child. If your colored card is forgotten, you will need to go to the front office with your picture ID to get a new one. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE, even if our staff knows/recognizes you.
These procedures will be in place all year for the safety of our students. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Note: Afterschool dismissal always takes longer during the first couple of weeks of school. Please be patient as students and parents become familiar with the procedures. After a couple of weeks, we generally have all students dismissed within 15 minutes of the dismissal bell at 2:55p.m.
*** HELPFUL HINTS ***
Please try to drop your child off early to avoid the rush that begins at 7:20a.m.
Use the school bus if possible.
Pull all the way up to the first spot. Do NOT stop by the front door.
Have your child go home their “usual” way beginning the first day of school to minimize confusion for your child and our staff
All students are escorted to their designated dismissal area and monitored by an adult after school.
Kindergarten and 1st grade students are walked directly to their assigned bus after school. 2nd-5th graders are walked to the loading area to board their bus. Many adults are on hand to help.
