Mrs. Daryn Polanco
Mrs. Polanco grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Texas in 1995, with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her emphasis in her undergraduate work was on reading and language arts. In 1998, Mrs. Polanco received her master's degree from Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction in mathematics. In 2016, she received her master's degree from the University of Texas-San Antonio in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Polanco taught fourth grade for three years and GT for thirteen years at Huebner.
She became a teacher because she was inspired by her grandmother and mother, who were teachers. She has a passion for the Maker movement and believes ALL students deserve the opportunity to have challenges that use parts of their brain not always utilized in a regular classroom setting.
Mrs. Polanco was hired as the Assistant Principal at Huebner in 2016. Most recently she was hired as our Principal at Bulverde Creek. She is thrilled to be a part of this amazing community and already loves the staff and families. In her free time, Mrs. Polanco enjoys spending time with her friends, reading, gardening, boating, and hanging out with her eighth grader Ava, her husband Marc, and her dogs Layla and Chloe.

Mrs. Bethany Thompson
My name is Bethany Thompson and I am the new Assistant Principal at Bulverde Creek Elementary. With 17 years of educational experience, I have had the privilege of working with NEISD for the past three years and most recently served as the Summer School Principal for Harmony Hills. Prior to this assignment, I served as an Accelerated Math Coach and served students across all elementary
grade levels as a classroom teacher within Texas and overseas. I am a proud graduate of Texas Tech University and received my master’s degree in Administration from Angelo State. Outside of school, I find great joy in the outdoors; gardening in my yard or walking my rescue dogs, Didymus and Albus. I have many positive memories of my own schooling growing up and never hesitated to go into education during college. Though I have held various responsibilities in education, I have thrived in serving students and teachers in a supportive leadership role. As both of my own children have attended and loved Bulverde Creek, my goal is to make our campus a place that our students will love coming to each day to make lasting positive memories where they know they are valued and cared for. This year as the new Assistant Principal, I will continue to support the high expectations on campus for our students and hope that it will be a successful year for everyone. I believe in assisting and guiding students to reach their full potential to benefit their leadership and academic goals. I know that by working as a team we can provide fun learning experiences and help our students grow. I look forward to using all of my leadership skills and experiences to continue the excellence for our Texans at Bulverde Creek Elementary.
