Frequently Asked Questions
What services does the library provide?
At the Camelot Library, we encourage your child to become a critical thinker, enthusiastic reader, skillful researcher, and ethical user of information. Your child will have the opportunity to visit the library to check out books, listen to stories, learn library skills, and much more!
What time is the library open?
The Camelot Library offers students, teachers, and parents flexible access by being open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Parents are invited to visit the library after school to check out books.
How many books can students check out?
Pre Kinderr: 1 book for 1 week
Kinder, 2nd Grade: 2 Books for 1 week
1st Grade, 4th Grade, 5th grade: 2 books for 2 weeks
E-books are available for checkout from home, as well.
Does my student visit the library with their class?
Yes, the library operates on a fixed and flexible schedule. Students in PK-fifth graders visit the library weekly or bi-weekly for lessons and check-out. When a class visits they have a 15-10 minute mini-lesson then about 10 minutes to check out and start reading their books.
What should I teach my child about book care?
Please talk to your child about a safe place to put their books so they do not lose them, and so that they are not damaged. By asking them to return their books on time and in good condition, we are teaching them to be responsible library patrons. If a book is lost, late, or damaged a notice will be sent home with the students.
