Frequently Asked Questions
The Royal Ridge Library offers students, teachers, and parents flexible access by being open Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Parents are invited to visit the library after school to check out books.
For instruction, the library operates on a fixed schedule. Students in PK-fifth graders visit the library weekly for lessons and check-out.
Students in the following grades can checkout different amounts of books depending on their grade level. Pre-kinder students do not personally checkout books, however library books are provided to their classes to be read in class.
Kindergarten- check 1 book, due back after 7 days
1st & 2nd Grades- Check out 2 books for 14 days
3rd- 5th Grades- 3 books for 14 days.
Please talk to your child about keeping their books in their backpacks so they do not lose them, and so that they are not damaged. By asking them to return their books on time and in good condition, we are teaching them to be responsible library patrons. If a book is lost, late, or damaged a notice will be send home with the students.
Parents may sign up for their own library account. A parent account allows you:
* to check out up to 5 books at a time for 2 weeks
* access to Overdrive, the North East ISD eBook collection
Come by the library to sign up for library access.
**Note: If you have students attending different NEISD schools, you still only need 1 account.**
