Hello! My name is Raul Mendez. I'm so happy to be a first grade teacher this year. I graduated from the University Regiomontana  (UR) in Monterrey, Mexico as an Industrial Engineer in 2004. I'm a bilingual certified teacher in Texas (EC-6). As a Mexican native, I understand the learning process and development of the first language and the support that students need to acquire a second language. My goal is for every student in my classroom to read and write at a grade level, so they can do great things in the years to come. Let's have a great school year!

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Raul Mendez. Estoy muy contento de ser el maestro de primer grado de su hijo(a). Yo me gradué de la Universidad Regiomontana en Monterrey, México en Ingeniería Industrial en el año 2004. Tengo mi certificación como maestro bilingüe de Prekínder a 6º grado aquí en Texas. Como nativo de Monterrey, México entiendo el proceso de aprender, desarrollar y mantener la lengua materna mientras adquieren el lenguaje de inglés en un ambiente seguro y positivo. Mi meta es que todos los alumnos de mi clase terminen leyendo y escribiendo al nivel de grado. ¡Vamos a tener un año espectacular!
