Hello All:

My name is Cindi McKenzie and I am the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Teacher here at the Pre-K Academy at West Avenue this school year.  This is my 14th year in education, and I have been teaching the "littles", Pre Kinder aged students, for the past 7 years.  I am really excited to be a part of this amazing opportunity to launch this full day, one level of preschool initiative here in NEISD on our campus.  I believe wholeheartedly that the early years of a child's life are the most critical for the development of a strong foundation, which will have a lasting impact on their lives in the future to come.  It is my goal this year to work closely with my teaching partners (the teachers on this campus and the instructional staff) to infuse engaging and interactive hands-on learning experiences to support the dynamic work that they are already doing in the classrooms.  Together, we will guide, encourage, and respond to all of our students, as we create endless opportunities for them to learn through meaningful, play-based experiences.  I can be found in our STEAM lab, or working with our precious students in their classrooms and throughout the school.  I look eagerly towards a fantastic school year!
