Popcorn Words

Word Wall words are sight words. These words are to be learned and recognized on sight without sounding out. We often refer to these words as “popcorn words” because they frequently “pop-up” in our reading/writing. Students will become familiar with these words to aid in their reading.

The words are introduced gradually throughout the year. Please practice these words. A fun way to put these words to memory is to go on a word hunt. Look in the newspaper, magazines, grocery store, etc. to find these words. How many times do the words “pop-up” in our community?!
