Hi, my name is Juan A. Velasquez. I am the Family Specialist at both Stone Oak Elementary and Canyon Ridge Elementary. I was born and raised in San Antonio and am a proud graduate of The University of Texas San Antonio.

Prior to joining NEISD, I spent the last 10 years working for the San Antonio Food Bank. The majority of my work involved helping families in need, and community projects for educating families on health and wellness. This work was very fulfilling, and I felt that I had given back to my community. In addition to my years of non-profit, I also received my certificate as a Bexar County Master Gardener.

As a Family Specialist, I will provide support, resources, and community services to both parents and students. In addition, I will conduct weekly education classes on Health, Fitness, Nutrition, and Gardening at both campuses.

I look forward to meeting all of you and am extremely excited to be a part of your school and community.
