North East ISD's Heroes


  • Muriel McDonald

    Muriel is the third person and first woman to be inducted onto the North East ISD Wall of Heroes. A special ceremony was held on Nov. 7, 2019 before the Churchill vs Roosevelt game at Heroes Stadium. Accepting the award on her behalf is her son Bill McDonald.

  • Jake Cherry

    Friends, family and guests gathered at Heroes Stadium as former graduate Jake Cherry was inducted to the North East ISD Wall of Heroes at a special ceremony on Nov. 9, 2017. A plaque featuring the high school football stand-out was added to the wall because of the impact he has made on the lives of current and future generations.

  • Admiral William “Bill” H. McRaven

    It was an emotional and inspirational day as Admiral William “Bill” H. McRaven (Ret.) was honored with the first Wall of Heroes plaque at North East ISD’s Wall of Heroes ceremony on Oct. 16, 2015. It was a wonderful start to what will be a long-standing tradition of celebrating the achievements of a person from the District who embodies heroic values.

Nominate a Hero

Nominees should embody heroic values. While a hero can be defined in many ways, the District has established criteria to recognize individuals on the District’s “Wall of Heroes.”

Nominations will be accepted between March 1 – May 1, 2021. Fill out an official nomination form and submit it by the deadline.
