The Research & Planning department promotes student learning in NEISD by providing timely and pertinent information that supports improvement initiatives for the District's schools and departments.

Research Timelines & Windows

Research can only be conducted during the following timelines:

Fall 2026

Research Request Submittal Window:
Aug  1st – Aug 31st, 2026

Research Implementation window:
Sept 10th – Dec 1st, 2026

Spring 2027

Research Request Submittal Window:
Jan 1st – Jan 31st, 2027

Research Implementation window:
Jan 9th – April 6th, 2027

About Research & Planning

The mission of this department is to promote student learning in North East by providing timely and pertinent information that supports improvement initiatives for the district's schools and departments.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Enrollment Projection Analysis
  • Allocate Campus Staffing
  • Trend analysis by metrics of all campus personnel and programs
  • Portable Allocations, Campus Capacity study
  • Conduct Ad Hoc Research Studies, by demographics, perceptions, student learning, and school processes
  • Conduct Program Evaluations
  • District-wide Assessment on an ongoing basis
  • Coordinate Improvement Initiatives
  • Conduct Boundary Investigations
  • Provide Analytics to inform practice

Goals:

  • To prepare reports and studies to assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the district's schools, departments, programs, plans, and other indicators of productivity
  • To obtain, analyze, and disseminate information in a timely manner in order to stimulate conversation among district personnel
  • To apply research and district studies to support performance
  • To increase district responsiveness to campus and department needs
  • To provide assistance in policy development and implementation to support all aspects of district organization and improvement
  • To monitor campus and district progress in the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR)
