The North East ISD Transportation Department will provide SAFE, RELIABLE, ECONOMICAL and COURTEOUS school bus service to all eligible students.
As members of the education community, NEISD Transportation Department Bus Drivers and Assistants will serve as an example for student riders by presenting a professional image, providing positive interactions and maintaining a safe and clean school bus environment.
SCHOOL BUS STANDARDS OF SAFETY AND CONDUCT
A school bus is an extension of the classroom and transportation is a privelege for all students who live two miles or more from their assigned school. Additionally, students who live in areas that have been designated with a hazardous walkpath by the District's Hazardous Route Committee also will receive bus service. Proper behavior and conduct are expected while waiting, riding, or departing the bus and the applicable guidelines are located in the respective Student/Parent Handbooks (Elementary: pages 73-80, Secondary: pages 79-85).
As members of the education community, NEISD Transportation Department Bus Drivers and Assistants will gain public confidence through courteous and safe operation of district vehicles by strictly observing all traffic laws, using defensive driving, maintaining route reliability, and dealing with all customers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner.
