      Mrs. Catherine Leach

      Hi There Hardy Oak Hornets,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Catherine Leach and I am happy to be back leading this amazing campus for this year and years to come.

If you are reading this, you are either interested in joining our school family, or are already part of our family. Either way, we will greet you with a warm Hardy Oak welcome when we see you. Come and join our family! Remember, at Hardy Oak, “Together We Grow” every day. It is our theme this year and the way we will work this school year, with a focus on growth for all Hornets.

Here is a little about me. I was born in San Antonio at the old BAMC, then moved around the country as an Army brat while I grew up, and eventually returned to San Antonio to graduate from NEISD. My amazing mom retired as a teacher from NEISD, my dedicated dad is a retired Army Officer and Leadership Professor/Consultant and my talented brother is an executive with Coca-Cola. I am happily married to my superstar husband, Craig, who is a National Sales Consultant. In our little family, we have three cuties, our boys Christian (7) and Colson (5), and our baby girl Charly Ray (2). I count my blessings every day for my personal and work family.

At Hardy Oak, we have the most stellar staff in the world. Our staff are dedicated to each Hornet’s academic, behavioral and emotional development. We structure our school days to support our students’ academic growth no matter where they are in their learning. We are not just about getting an A, but about growing every day. We create activities that support our Hornets as they learn and grow from their behavioral choices and as they develop emotionally as well. Our Hornets are our focus in all we do and their growth and development lead the way.

We thank you for trusting us with your most precious possessions, your children. We promise to treat all of our Hornets like our own while they are at Hardy Oak and look forward to another great year together as a family.

Always remember, at Hardy Oak, “Together We Grow”!

First and foremost, I want to thank you for your interest in our school and that I am beyond thrilled to be the Assistant Principal here at Hardy Oak!! Please let me take this opportunity to tell you about myself. My husband and I have 4 grown children, 8 grandbabies, and 2 fur babies! I enjoy hiking and love coffee! This will be my 17th year as an educator and my third as an Assistant Principal. I graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from UTSA! I’ve had the pleasure of being part of NEISD since 2014 as a third-grade dual language teacher at Coker Elementary, then a Family Specialist in 2018 at Vineyard Ranch, Las Lomas, and Hardy Oak.  I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to be part of such a great community!
