Mrs. Brandi McKinney
I am so excited to be your child’s Pre-K teacher here at Hardy Oak.
I have taught at Hardy Oak for the past 10 years.
I spearheaded the Pre-K program at Hardy Oak in 2020 and it has been an amazing experience.
Prior to Pre-K, I was the special education behavior specialist here on campus.
I have also taught kinder, special education resource, redirection, and 2nd & 5th co-teach.
Teaching is my second career. I was in the Air Force for 14 years, where I worked in Recruiting Service as a recruiter, trainer and in Human Resources/Personnel.
My husband, Carl is the Athletic Director for Nixon-Smiley ISD and head basketball coach. He played professional basketball for 14 years prior with the NY Knicks, LA Clippers and overseas.
My son Noah is 22 years old and in the Air Force and my daughter Alexis is 18 and a Freshman at Baylor University.
I have two Master’s degrees; one in Special Education & one in Education/Human Resources Management. My undergrad is in Early Childhood Education.
I love any outdoor activities, like running, camping, going to the lake and spending time with my family. I can’t wait to have your sweet kiddo in my class.
