Families, community members and NEISD employees gathered around to celebrate and learn about this project in which city leaders, San Antonio Sports, and area school districts are working together to bring the School Park (SPARK) program to the city.

Camelot Elementary School is one of the very first campuses to open a SPARK. NEISD Board President Susan Galindo, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, Councilwoman District 2 Ivy Taylor, and Chairman of the Board of San Antonio Sports George Block spoke to the crowd about how important this project is to the community.

The park will be used by students during school hours and will be open to the community in the evenings and on the weekends. This gives the Camelot neighborhood easy access to walking trails, covered playgrounds and a gazebo.
