Management Information Services

Management Information Services (MIS) is comprised of Data Processing and Telecommunications.  MIS-Data Processing oversees all student and employee information applications and software. We develop web applications that simplify District processes. The MIS Department manages the Skyward Student Information System, Family Access, Student Portal, Online Registration, and Employee Portal. MIS also assists in the management of Employee Center which includes Lawson Business, Employee Space, and Lawson ESS. NEISD's PEIMS department is also housed within the Management Information Services Department and works in tandem with other departments to accurately report data to the State of Texas.

MIS-Telecommunications oversees, manages, repairs, and updates the NEISD VoIP phone system across the District and all NEISD campuses. We ensure that all systems are up to date and in working order.

New to Skyward

NEISD creates a Family Access account for you automatically when you register a student in the District.  If you don’t receive an email invitation in the first few days after registration, call the NEISD Help Desk at 210-356-4357 for login assistance.

Benefits of Using Skyward Family Access

NEISD is constantly working to improve its services to you--our parents and community. The Family Access Portal is an example of this commitment. With the Skyward Family Access you can view:

  • Grades & Report Cards
  • Attendance
  • Schedules
  • Graduation Plans
Accessing Skyward for the First Time:

If you have a student enrolled in NEISD, then you already have a family access account. Look for your invitation to the portal in the coming days. Your email invite will contain your account information and login information along with the link to the website. If you don’t receive an email in the first few days of school, then call the NEISD Help Desk at 210-356-4357.

      • Please contact the Campus Data Processor as he/she is the only individual who can resolve these matters. The NEISD Help Desk does not have access to this information and can only refer you back to the campus.
      • NOTE: The primary cause of missing students and/or multiple accounts is that students are registered under different primary accounts. (ex. John B. Doe is different from John Doe when it comes to the name of the account holder.)

Change Primary Guardian in Primary Family

Each student in Skyward has a Primary Family. Some students have a Secondary Family too. The Primary Family Primary Guardian is the individual who is the main contact for the family and has the authority to make decisions that impact the children in their family. Through Skyward Family Access the Primary Family Guardians can change the Primary Guardian for the family. Please note this is not available for Secondary Families. See the steps below to get started.

  1. Login in to Skyward Family Access
  2. Look for the “Update Primary Guardian” icon.

    You might have noticed this icon is listed for each child. You only need to fill this out once—it will apply to all children listed.
  3. Go through the form step by step.
    You will see the current primary guardian then you can switch the primary to the secondary guardian by entering their name in the box below. Leave the box blank to make no change. Click Submit and you are done. Your school will verify your entry and make the change.
