Meal Payment, Á La Carte Pricing, and Birthday Treats

Make a Payment

You can make a cash or check payment directly to the cafeteria with no fees. North East ISD also accepts convenient credit card payments for school meals through School Café with a small convenience fee. Enrollment is easy!

How to enroll:
  • Go to schoolcafe.com/NorthEastISD
  • Create an account
  • Add your student(s) using their school name and student ID
  • Make a payment to your student’s account with your credit or debit card

A convenience fee of $2.25 per transaction will be charged. 

With email and push notifications, parents can stay on top of their student’s account balance. Low balance reminders make sure parents never miss a payment and students always have adequate funds in their account.

Apply for Free or Reduced-Price Meals

Students who attend a school that does not participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) may still qualify for free or reduced-price school meals based on household eligibility.

Meal Benefits Can Mean More Than Meals

Qualifying for free or reduced-price meals may also provide access to additional benefits, including:

  • Free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch in your child’s school cafeteria
  • Reduced fees for summer school
  • Reduced fees for SAT and ACT testing
  • Reduced college application fees
  • Discounts or reduced-cost services from select businesses and community programs
 
How to Apply for Meal Benefits
(Families only need to complete one meal benefits application for all eligible students in the household.)

The online application is the quickest way to apply and have your application processed. Families can also receive their eligibility results electronically.

A link to the online application was emailed to households at non-CEP campuses on July 22.

Apply with a Paper Application

Paper applications are available at your child’s campus. Families may request an application from the campus and return the completed form to the school cafeteria.


Newly enrolled families can also request an application during registration.
 

Á la carte items are also available for purchase.

The cafeteria offers a prepayment plan in all schools. Á la carte items may be purchased with this plan. Payment can be deposited into the student's account and the balance is reduced each time an item is purchased.  Payments can be made by cash or check, with no fees, at the school cafeteria or by credit card online with a small convenience fee.  A $100 deposit limit and a small convenience fee applies for credit card transactions.

How do I check my cafeteria account?

o check your child's cafeteria account balance, log on to School Cafe or contact your .

What if my account has a negative balance?

Elementary Schools:  A message will be sent through Blackboard to notify the parent when the negative balance is greater than $5.00. Elementary students that do not have funds in their account will be allowed to charge up to $15.00 to include regular meals only - no extra items may be charged. Once the limit is met, students will no longer receive a meal tray but will be offered a snack with a beverage until the account is paid in full.

Middle Schools: A message will be sent through Blackboard to notify parent when the negative balance is greater than $2.00. Middle school students will be allowed to charge up to $10.00 to include regular meals only - no extra items may be charged. Once the limit is met, students will no longer receive a meal tray but will be offered a snack with a beverage until the account is paid in full.

High Schools: A message will be sent through Blackboard to notify the parent when the negative balance is greater than $2.00. High school students will be allowed to charge up to $5.00 to include regular meals only - no extra items may be charged. Once the limit is met, students will no longer receive a meal tray but will be offered a snack with a beverage until the account is paid in full.

Adults: Adults are expected to make payment at time of purchase. Charges will not be accepted.

Returned checks may be recovered electronically along with the state allowed fee.

Are cafeteria account balances carried forward each school year?

All money remaining in your child's account on the last day of school will begin the balance next school year. The funds will stay in the account even if your child transfers to another school within NEISD.

What do I need to setup an online account for payments?

You will need your child's name, ID number, school name, and birth date to create an account at SchoolCafe.com/NorthEastISD.  There is a limit of $100 and a fee of $2.25 for each transaction.
