Administrative Interns

North East ISD is dedicated to employing the best school administrators and school leaders around. In order to ensure the quality of our principals and assistant principals, the District offers intensive training for its administrators before they ever enter the field of school leadership.  

Our goal is to always hire the best educators, teach them the “NEISD Way,” and promote from within as often as possible. For more than five decades, NEISD has offered an Administrative Training Program to its educators who are aspiring school leaders. Executive Directors of Campus Administration, with more than 145 combined years of experience in education, prepare the interns, who have met all principal certification requirements, to rise to the next level in their careers.

The selection process is multi-faceted, intense and highly competitive. Once accepted to the program, the administrative trainees complete a challenging curriculum of theoretical and hands-on experiences for an entire year. They learn from our District’s outstanding Directors and Executive Directors, outside speakers, and a variety of self-directed activities designed to prepare themselves for the demands of school leadership. They are exposed to the latest and best literature in their field and are expected to continue as lifelong learners. Verbal and written communication skills, presence, policy, data analysis, and technology are just a few of the topics they explore.

After they become campus instructional and organizational leaders, the learning does not stop. Ongoing and comprehensive training continues throughout their career.
