Level I
At Level One, the appropriate hearing officer shall hold a hearing with the complainant within 10 days after receipt of the written complaint. The hearing officer may set reasonable time limits for the hearing.
Copies of any documents that support the complaint should be included with the complaint form. If the complainant does not have copies of these documents, copies may be presented at the Level One hearing. After the Level One hearing, the complainant may supplement the record with additional documents or include additional claims.
The principal will listen, review the evidence provided, and conduct an inquiry into the complaint.
The principal will respond in writing to the complainant within 20 days of the conference.
“Days” shall mean District business days, unless otherwise noted.
Please be aware: The North East ISD Board Policies FNG (Legal) and (Local) have recently been updated to reflect changes from Senate Bill 12 of the 89th Legislative Session. These changes took effect on September 1, 2025. Complaints filed before this date, or issues leading to a complaint that occurred before this date, will follow the previous grievance timelines and process.
To file a formal complaint, please fill out this form completely and submit it by hand delivery or email to the campus principal/appropriate administrator or to the District by emailing the Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services at grievances@neisd.net within the time established in FNG (LOCAL). All complaints will be heard in accordance with FNG (LEGAL) and (LOCAL) or any exceptions outlined therein. If requested, the principal will assist in completing the form.
