Classroom/ In-Car Training Program

  1. Register an Arux Account: Parents, register an account using your credentials at neisd.arux.app. You are able to add ALL of your students to your account to enjoy all of our Community Education offerings!
  2. Come to Class: Your first 3 days (6 full hours) are critical to your program. On the 4th day, you will receive a DE-964E certificate. If you miss a day, you will legally not receive a certificate. This certificate will allow you to take your permit test at DPS & receive your permit!
  3. Go to DPS: Don't lose that certificate! You need to bring that certificate, along with these documents, to any DPS in Texas. Appointments are open up 6 months in advance. At your appointment, you will take your permit test (30 questions), a vision test, and voila - get your permit!
  4. Time 2 Drive: After you receive your permit, register for a Schedule2Drive account at schedule2drive.com Use this online scheduling tool to reserve your drives, enter in your parent hours, and receive feedback from your instructors.
  5. Attendance Counts: TDLR requires a full, 32 hours commitment to be eligible for a driver's license. Any tardies or absences are not excused and will need to be made up at another session. Double check your schedule to make sure you have no interference!
  6. Set Goals: Don't miss your deadline! Register for at least 3 drives/month and log at least 5 hours/month in your parent log. Each driving session is 40 minutes/1 hour long. We anticipate you to have at least 12 drives in total.
  7. Practice Makes Progress: You will be required to log in Fridays at 4:30PM to register for available drives (times are subjected to change - keep updated on the S2D dashboard). It is mandatory to drive for 7 hours with an instructor, 7 hours of observation, and 30 hours with an adult. After completion, you will receive your final certificate to get your provisional!
