Special Needs Transportation

The NEISD Special Needs Transportation Office strives to make sure your student's trip to and from school and home is pleasurable and safe.  Read the Special Needs Parameters,  in Spanish.

  • Special Needs Transportation is determined by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to ensure students receive appropriate and fair services based on federal, state, and local stipulations.

  • Students receiving Special Needs Transportation will be given a yellow door hanger at their household with printed bus stop information.

  • The pick-up and drop-off sequence and times depend on the student's proximity to their school or program and medical needs of students assigned to the route.

  • Parents/guardians/caregivers are responsible for meeting the bus to transfer custody of the student before and after school.

  • Routes are designed for a bus ride to be less than 60 minutes. Our goal is to provide a safe, economical and courteous service.
