Mrs. Mary Ann Pike

I have been working in education for 17 years. My experience includes general ed, inclusion, and ESL classroom, grades 1-5, and dyslexia intervention in grades 1-5. I'm proud to be part of the Wetmore family as the dyslexia intervention teacher this year. There is nothing quite like seeing the look of satisfaction on a student's face when they realize they've unlocked the "code" to reading.

When I am not teaching, you might find me exercising, riding bikes, or taking day trips to interesting places with my family. I have been married for 28 years, with two wonderful kids, both Longhorn alums who are now happily "adulting." My son is in New York, and my daughter is in Dallas.

My goal is to help all kids achieve their reading goals and to foster a love for reading along the way.

"Believe you can, and you're halfway there." -Theodore Roosevelt

My small group schedule may vary throughout the year.  I provide research-based instruction and academic support to prepare my students to be successful, lifetime readers and writers.
