HUMAN RESOURCES - substitutes

We are now accepting substitute applications for the 2014-2015 school year.

Thank you for applying as a substitute for the North East Independent School District.  Once you have met all requirements below, you will be emailed information from a Substitute Office staff on necessary fingerprinting procedures. In addition to submitting an on-line application, substitute-degreed and certified applicants must also complete the Gallup Teacher Insight Survey in order to be considered. If necessary bring any requested documents to your Substitute Orientation.

As a reminder, all employees must be fingerprinted and cleared through Human Resources prior to beginning employment and attending Substitute Orientation. Not all applicants that apply will be contacted or invited to become a substitute. 

All applicants being considered for substituting must meet minimum requirements listed below.  If you are selected for substitute employment, you will be notified via email of the mandatory orientation you are scheduled to attend.  Please review the information below before applying at the Job Opportunities link on this page.  Thank you for your interest in the North East ISD.

Bachelors Degree

1. Complete on-line Substitute Degreed or Substitute Certified application and Gallup Teacher Insight Survey (after completing application you can access the Gallup Survey link)
2. Mail or drop off your official college transcripts indicating your Bachelor's Degree awarded (resume & letter of intent are not required)
3. If certified, send a copy of your state certification

Paraprofessionals
(i.e. Clerical Staff or Teacher Assistants)
High School Diploma or equivalent

1. Complete on-line Substitute Paraprofessional application
2. Mail or fax copy of your diploma or GED

Nurse
Current RN License

1. Complete on-line Substitute Certified application
2. Mail or drop off your official college transcripts indicating degree awarded and a copy of your current RN License
3. Contact Health Services Department @ 407-0304 to inform them of your interest

Counselor
Current School Counselor Certification

1. Complete On-line Substitute Certified application
2. Mail or drop off your official college transcripts indicating degree awarded and a copy of your current school counseling certification
3. Contact Guidance Department @ 407-0348 to inform them of your interest

Note: Documents, such as resumes and transcripts, submitted become the property of NEISD and will not be returned.

REFERENCES:  A minimum of 2 current references (supervisor) who have first-hand knowledge of your character, scholastic, or working ability are required when completing your application.  Reference information will be e-mailed if complete information is provided.

All requirements must be met before your application will be considered.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.  North East ISD reserves the right to limit the hiring of substitutes based on needs.

IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE:  Effective January 1, 2008 Texas law requires that Texas Education Agency acquire National Criminal History Record Information through fingerprints on all certified educators, substitutes and non-certified employees.  If you are offered a position in a Texas school district, you will be required to pay a non-refundable fee for fingerprinting prior to employment.  If you have already been fingerprinted in another district in the state of Texas or in compliance with Teaching Certification, you will not be required to submit fingerprints again.
