Elementary Digi Citizenship lessons

Why Teach Digital Citizenship?
Technology is everywhere... even for our elementary students. By teaching digital citizenship and giving students opportunities to communicate in positive ways, we are helping students learn how to engage in positive online experiences. By the end of 5th grade, students will build empathy through supervised scenarios where they learn to communicate in positive ways. These communication exercises will give them the skills necessary to transfer the ability to work collaboratively in core content areas.

How Do I Begin a Lesson?
Find the grade level you teach in the slide below. You will present each lesson using the Pear Deck add-on. Here are instructions on how to use Pear Deck. Students will complete one lesson in the Fall and one in the Spring. Click on the lesson you plan on delivering; it will link to a slide show containing everything you need. The full lesson plan and a script are in the speaker notes of the slideshow. If you prefer, you can print these out by clicking Printable Lesson Plans under Resources. Once your students complete each lesson, click on Teacher Confirmation Form and turn in to your principal.
