NEISD GED Testing Center

GED (General Educational Development) Tests measure the outcome of a high school education. The GED Tests consist of five tests, one in each of these subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Writing Skills, and Interpreting Literature and the Arts. Adaptations to testing conditions are permitted for adults with disabilities.

Important:

You must register to take any part of the GED exam. Registration can be completed at NEISD Community Learning Center - 8750 Tesoro Dr. Registration Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday.

First Time Testers:

You must bring the following with you to register:

  • Current Texas Picture ID (Texas Drivers License, Military ID or other government issued picture ID)
  • If you are 17 years of age- official withdrawal form from last school attended and must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
  • Parent/guardian must show current ID

You will be required to:

  • Pay $35 test processing fee plus $12 for each of the five tests(Total $95)
  • Complete the official GED Registration packet (allow 45 minutes for completion).

On Testing Day you will be required to:

  • Show current Texas Picture ID, Texas Driver's License, or Military ID
  • Show pink copy of GED registration

You may qualify for special accommodations if you have a documented learning disability. Form must be completed and returned at least one month prior to the testing date to allow for the request to be reviewed.

Passing Requirements - An average of the five individual subject area test scores of 450 or greater; in addition, each individual subject area test score must be 410 or greater.

GED TESTING CENTER LOCATION AND HOURS: The GED Testing Center is located at The North East Community Learning Center, 8750 Tesoro Dr. The testing center opens at 7:15 a.m. for check-in. The tests will be given at the specific times indicated. All students must check in no later than 15 minutes before testing time. Math- 8:00a.m., Language Arts, Writing - 10:30 a.m., Science - 1:30 p.m., Social Studies - 3:00 p.m., Language Arts, Reading - 4:35 p.m. Each test is timed and you may not bring calculators, dictionaries, or paper with you. Cell phones, pagers, watches, food/drinks, and back packs are not allowed in the testing room.

TO-RETEST:

You must:

  • Wait six months before you can retest. If less than 6 months, you must provide a letter from an instructor with a GED preparation program stating readiness.
  • Register at North East Community Learning Center- 8750 Tesoro Dr.
  • Show current Texas Picture ID, Texas Driver's License or Military ID
  • Pay $15 for each test you retake
  • Present Official TEA GED Score Notification Letter
