October 2 - November 1
Proposed Campus
Library Title Acquisitions
The following titles have been submitted for approval by campus librarians. If approved, campus librarians will be able to purchase these titles for their libraries. Librarians will only purchase titles that have been deemed appropriate for their level — elementary, middle, or high school.
Proposed Classroom
Library Title Acquisitions
The following titles have been submitted for review by elementary, middle, and high school teachers for review. If approved as age-appropriate for the specified grade levels by the North East ISD School Board, they will be added to classroom collections. Teachers will share their updated classroom library lists with parents for review and permission prior to student access.

Maintenance of NEISD Library Collections
- Weeding is a routine function of all libraries. This process involves regularly rotating titles best to serve the needs of NEISD students and staff. It includes removing titles with low circulation, replacing titles that include outdated information or do not meet our selection criteria, and replacing damaged books.

Campus Library Materials Concerns
NEISD values open communication and encourages individuals to work directly with the appropriate staff members to address questions or concerns regarding campus library materials. Many concerns can be resolved effectively through conversation at the campus level. The following steps are designed to help individuals reach the appropriate person and work toward a resolution.
Step 1: Contact the Campus Librarian
The first step is to contact the campus librarian to discuss the library title concern. This allows the librarian an opportunity to answer questions, provide additional information, and work towards a resolution.

Step 2: Contact a Campus Administrator
If the concern is not resolved after speaking with the campus librarian, the next step is to contact a campus administrator. A campus administrator can help review the concern, gather additional information, and assist in working toward a resolution.

Step 3: Formal Reconsideration Request Process
If the campus library title concern has not been resolved after completing the informal steps above, an individual may choose to initiate NEISD’s formal reconsideration request process.
The formal reconsideration request follows specific procedures and timelines established by state law and Board policy. Because this process is more structured than the informal resolution process, individuals are encouraged to first make an effort to resolve concerns through direct communication with campus staff.
