Title Programs

The United States, through the U.S. Department of Education, provides states federal educational funds based on a state's population, unemployment rate, poverty rates, low-income families, etc. NEISD receives funding for Title IA, Title IIA, TItle III and Title IV.

Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Federal funds are currently allocated through four statutory formulas that are based primarily on census poverty estimates and the cost of education in each state.

Title II, Part A
The purpose of Title II, Part A is to increase the academic achievement of all students by helping schools and districts improve teacher and principal quality and effectiveness.

Title III, Part A
Title III is to ensure that Limited English Proficient (LEP) students, including immigrant children and youth, develop English proficiency.

Title IV, Part A
