Instructional Materials Adoption

Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA) Cycle 2026 will include a review of instructional materials for K–12 fine arts, certain courses in 6–12 Career and Technical Education (CTE), and K–5 supplemental reading language arts (RLA), in addition to the previously reviewed subjects and grade levels from IMRA Cycles 2024 and 2025, which includes K-12 mathematics.
 
Full-subject, Tier one instructional materials:
  • K–12 English mathematics, including middle school advanced mathematics
  • K–6 Spanish mathematics, including grade 6 advanced mathematics

Schedule of Events

September 2025

A District level committee composed of teachers and leaders from schools across the district is established.

October 2nd

The committees convene to create the NEISD Kinder-5th grade and 6th grade -12th grade Evaluation Rubrics

December 2nd

The committees convene to evaluate all State Board of Education (SBOE) approved resources to determine which resources best meet the needs of NEISD stakeholders.

January 20th - February 13th

The materials are available on campuses and online for teachers and staff members to review.

January 22nd

Virtual Community Hearing for teachers, leaders and community members to attend. 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm via zoom


January 28th

Publishers' Showcase is available for all teachers and staff, leaders, and community members to attend at Piper Bass Memorial Student Center. 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

February 3rd

Virtual Community Hearing for teachers, leaders and community members to attend. 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm via zoom


February 11th

Internal Virtual Publishers' Hearing is available for campus teachers and leaders to attend. 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm via zoom


February 16th - February 20th

Teachers who evaluate resources and submit their evaluation vote for the resource they'd like to adopt.

March

NEISD Math Leaders present the district recommendations for adoption to the School Board.

Spring/Summer 2026

Vendors and district leaders provide professional learning and support for newly adopted resources
