March 2015 - NEISD opens SPARK at Larkspur Elementary School

The community near Larkspur can now use the remodeled and expanded playground park area on campus after school hours and on weekends. This park features two covered playgrounds, a soccer field, walking trail, disc golf, park benches, covered pavilion and more.
The SPARK park will be open to the public from sunrise to sunset on Saturdays, Sundays, and school holidays. The park will also be open during the week after school at 6:30 p.m. until sunset. The SPARK will be closed when school is in session or when use of the SPARK school ground is necessary for school purposes.
The City of San Antonio, San Antonio Sports, and NEISD has teamed up to transform school playgrounds into larger park facilities. These school parks gives easy access to free exercise facilities to the neighborhood. The first NEISD SPARK opened at Camelot Elementary School in 2013.
NEISD has plans for several more SPARK projects.
