Windcrest Elementary School Construction Projects

The 2011 Bond provided funding to construct a new building addition to replace twenty portable classrooms with permanent classroom facilities. The design included construction of: (1) twenty new classrooms with integrated restrooms, including nineteen general-purpose classrooms and one music classroom with an office and instrument storage area; (2) library and media center; (3) computer lab; (4) teacher resource and support areas; (5) covered walkways at the parent drop-off/pick-up area and bus loading/unloading area; (6) fire lane extension; (7) central plant for the new classroom/library addition; and (8) landscaping, irrigation, drainage, site utilities, and infrastructure improvements to complement the new facility addition. Building renovations to the existing campus include: (9) renovating the existing library area in a new administrative office area; (10) renovating the existing administrative office area into the career and counseling suite and clinic area; (11) renovating the existing clinic area into a new ALE Classroom and restroom area; and (12) enclosing the existing entry alcove and converting this space into an air-conditioned entry vestibule. The total facility program for the campus equals 52,770 sq. ft., with 43,740 sq. ft. for the new classroom/library addition and 9,030 sq. ft. for the campus renovations program.
