Announcements

There are two early release days next week (February 3 and February 4).  Early release for middle school this year, is strange because all classes still end at 1:50 which is our early release time.  The difference on these two days is that all students must leave campus at 1:50 unless they have athletic practice or are in the KIN program.  There will only be one bus run which will be at 1:50.

KSAT on Social Media

As previously mentioned, KSAT now has a YouTube Channel, in addition to the KSAT Twitter page and the Facebook page,

On YouTube, search for “Krueger School of Applied Technologies – KSAT” or try the link below:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Nkk_JH4x20RptyLw33OQA?view_as=subscriber

We are posting content as new videos become available. So, subscribe to get notifications of new posts.

Recruiting opportunities

Tomorrow, KSAT will be participating the San Antonio Virtual School Fair.  Schools from across the San Antonio area will be available virtually from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to answer questions and present information about their programs.  Most of the NEISD Magnet programs will be represented.

KSAT Parent Terri Pease will present from 9:30 am to 10:15.  If you have questions about the magnet programs or know someone who may be interested, they can attend at the website:  https://saschoolfair.org/

Information about KSAT can be found on the KSAT Website at www.neisd.net/ksat.

The magnet application system is open right now. The same system is used for all middle school and high school magnet programs. The deadline is February 12, 2021.  Any students who apply after that date will automatically be placed on the Waitlist.

Repeat Announcement: For recruiting this season, I have been doing virtual 5th grade campus visits when I have been invited.  However, it is more critical than ever to have parents and students share their experiences in the KSAT program. Please encourage interested families you know to apply.   More information about the magnet programs and the online application can be found at  https://www.neisd.net/magnetprograms or feel free to contact my office directly at 210-356-4706.

Reminder to the  8th grade KSAT students. It is time to start deciding your high school choice. Current KSAT 8th grade students receive automatic admission into ETA.  Scan the QR code or look for more information sent to you from ETA to reserve your seat in the program next year.  If you do not receive these emails, please reach out to Mr. Lozano (rlozan1@neisd.net ) and he will send the information directly to you.

Face Coverings (Repeat Message)

“Face coverings help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by reducing droplets if the face covering is worn securely over the nose and mouth. According to the CDC, cloth face coverings offer some protection to you and are also meant to protect those around you in case you are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 and don’t have any symptoms. Certain types of face coverings are more effective than others. Beginning November 30, 2020, masks with valves will not be permitted for students or employees. Gaiters and bandanas will only be permitted for outdoor use.”

Final Thoughts

We are in week four of the second semester.  You should have been notified about failures this week.  But please check Parent Access every week or so to keep up with how your student is doing. Reach out to the teachers with questions you have about grades.

Have a great weekend.
