Not everyone can say that chemistry is their favorite subject, but when Kyle Kellogg is your teacher, you might gain a whole new perspective. This summer, the Churchill High School chemistry teacher got the opportunity to connect with high school students across the District by teaching summer school at LEE High School. And his class couldn’t have come at a better time for one student in particular named George.

George’s mother explains why she took the time to send a heartfelt thank you to Kellogg in this email.

Hi Mr. Kellogg,

My son George is in your chemistry class, and I wanted to tell you that he thinks you are the BEST TEACHER EVER!! In fact, I commented to George over the weekend that this was the last week of summer school, and I thought he would be thrilled; instead, his response was that he wished it wasn’t ending! George has to be at Johnson H.S. by noon to ride the school bus to LEE and gets back to Johnson close to 6 o’clock...I say this only because it makes his response even MORE AMAZING!  I want to thank you for all your hard work and for making George love school and chemistry.  We wish you taught at Johnson because he is really going to miss you as a teacher and would have benefitted greatly to continue to have you for more science classes.  You have made returning to school exciting and something to really look forward to!

Wishing You All The Best!
