Proud to be a part of the NEISD team

What do you get when you cross an NEISD teacher, an NEISD student, and the coronavirus? A whole new normal and a chance to really count your blessings.

Ashlee Lara is a teacher at Hardy Oak Elementary School. Her daughter, Harper, is also a student at the school. Now, Ashlee is figuring out not only how to teach her classroom students from home, but she is also homeschooling her daughter through distance learning. Throughout it all, she is not alone.

“It's times like this that make me EVEN MORE proud to be an educator in NEISD! We've received video messages, emails, voice recordings, and more from the administrators and teaching staff! The kindergarten team at Hardy Oak, and her teacher, Mrs. Brennen, have done amazing things to make Harper feel like they love her and are thinking of her! The Zoom meetings put THE BIGGEST smile on her face, and all of her teachers (including her Specials, Art, Library, and Makerspace teachers) have made it a point to leave positive comments and voice recordings on her Seesaw assignments! WE LOVE NEISD!”

Thank you for telling your story, Ashlee Lara! We invite you to share your stories from home at neisd.net/tellyourstory.
