Thank You Jackson Middle School

“Jackson Middle School has the best administrators, teacher, and staff! Our daughter, Leah, is an 8th grader at Jackson Middle School and despite some personal challenges she faces, she has overcome so much and grown during her time at Jackson, in large part to the staff at Jackson Middle School. Ms. Elizabeth Cave-Stevens, the theater teacher, has gone out of her way to encourage Leah as a leader and modeling what great character and integrity are all about. Ms. Cave-Stevens truly cares for all of her students and wants the best for them, not only in their theater skills, but most importantly, in life. She has a compassion for kids, without feeling sorry for them. She truly pushes them to be their best! Another teacher who has gone above and beyond is Ms. Salas, the art teacher. Leah applied to the Visual Arts program at NESA for next fall and Ms. Salas has worked hard all year to help Leah prepare for her interview and portfolio. Ms. Salas even lent her personal art portfolio case to Leah, so that she wouldn't have to buy one until she knew she had been accepted to NESA. Then once Leah did get accepted, Ms. Salas threw a surprise party for Leah and invited her art and theater friends to the party. Ms. Salas made a banner and even made a custom cake in the shape of an artists' palette. She truly went above and beyond and our family was deeply touched. I have felt very confident in Leah's time at Jackson Middle School, I've never worried that she was not cared for and appreciated for just who she is as well as receiving a rigorous education. Thank you, Jackson Middle School and NEISD for taking good care of all kids!”
