Welcome Letter to Parents!

Hello Seahawk Parents!

My name is Mrs. Bailee Thompson. I am your students 7th grade English Language Arts here at Nimitz Middle School. I was born and raised in Houston, TX but moved during my junior year to San Antonio. I graduated from Steele High School in Cíbolo, TX. I continued my education and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with my Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in grades 7-12 English Language Arts and Reading.

I look forward to having your child in my classroom, where I hope to teach them not only about English Language Arts, but how to navigate the world around them. I hope to embed critical thinking, questioning, and analysis throughout the year while we read stories, understand their backgrounds, and write their own. Students will become active learners and participate daily during in-class activities. 

I am here as a facilitator, to help your child learn the best way they can. As a believer in education for all, I am focusing on creating a community in which all students will be successful in everything they aspire to do. I hope to create a culturally responsive classroom, teaching strategies as to how to thrive in our world today and tomorrow.
