Library book opt-out procedures & check out history for secondary students

NEISD secondary libraries offer a wide range of library materials for students and faculty that support student achievement at varying levels of difficulty, diversity of appeal, and a variety of points of view, which may contain some content that has been flagged for an older audience. In general, students are afforded the opportunity to self-select library materials; however, in an effort to maximize transparency, NEISD has created new processes in Skyward that provide the following tools for parents and guardians:

1. Access to their child’s checkout history

2. Opt-out from access to collections suited for an older audience

If you DO NOT want your child to have access to these library materials suited for an older audience, follow the instructions in the video provided in the video below: 

Opt Out Instructions in Spanish: 

Si usted NO desea que su hijo(a) tenga acceso a estos materiales de la biblioteca que son adecuados para un público mayor, haga clicen el cuadro de Opt-Out (EXCLUSIÓN) a continuación y envíe el formulario. Si usted no desea que el acceso de su hijo a la biblioteca cambie, deje la casilla sin marcar y envíe el formulario.
